Holy pow!

The snow up here in Tahoe has been a little sparse, until this week. C and I got up bright and early and shoveled, and shoveled, and shoveled some more until there was enough space to scoot our little yellow non-snowmobile out onto the highway. We made it up to Mt. Rose and got on the lift when it opened. Nothing but virgin powder as far as the eye could see... for about ten minutes anyway. The first run was... well, it was good. It did get tracked up pretty quick. But there were patches of untouched deep powder all day. This is a photo from this morning:

It could be of me -- who can tell?

It was a very good day. I saw a helicopter fly in at one point -- figured that couldn't be good. Turns out a guy in the lift line had a massive heart attack. C was right behind him. Apparently skiers were annoyed they had to maneuver around him to get on the lift as he was dying. You know, it was a powder day. Oh, and the stock market crashed.
