Christian Bale, Batman himself, was arrested Monday, following the UK premiere of The Dark Knight, reports Sky News.

The actor celebrated his movie's premiere - and box office success - a day before his arrest.
According to reports, Bale spent four hours at a London police station, but was not charged. British media had reported that Bale's family complained he had assaulted them at the Dorchester Hotel in London on the night of his movie's premiere.

Representatives for Bale released a statement today denying that an assault took place: "Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister. Mr. Bale, who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police.

"At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."

According to the report, the two women went to a Hampshire police station yesterday to make a formal allegation. Specifics regarding how the women were assaulted were not available as of press time.

The complaint about the actor was then passed to the Metropolitan Police for further investigation.

A police spokeswoman said: "A 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by appointment.
"He was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He currently remains in custody."
