Where no closing date is shown, the Senator's term of service is unexpired. Under section 13 of the Constitution, for the purposes of rotation, the terms of service of Senators, other than those representing the Territories, whose commencing dates are shown as 5.9.1914, 28.4.1951, 18.5.1974, 13.12.1975, 5.3.1983 and 11.7.1987 are taken to have begun on 1 July preceding those dates. Entry in brackets indicates an honour bestowed while Senator was serving in the Federal Parliament. For a full list of party abbreviations, see the abbreviations page.
