Twitter - Do you "get it"?
I recently joined up on Twitter. I have been hearing so much about it, but been reluctant as I didn't "get it". That seems to be their slogan when I read about them. You eventually hjust have to "get it" to understand.
It's been about a week and I am starting to see the benefit. I am meeting more people, some in a professional regard, and others just because they seem friendly. I started with just answering their hanging question whenever I could of "What are you doing now?", but now I am seeing myself reply to other peoples comments and having conversations about little things. I am also learning a lot of new things on there before I see them anyplace else. I think I'm on the edge of "getting it". I hope this doesn't turn into an addiction like I hear it does. That was my other reason for being reluctant to join. So who out there "gets it"? What are your thoughts on the service? Is it a waste of time and just noise, or is there professional value in it? Re: Twitter - Do you "get it"?
I actually just signed up for twitter not that long ago. Right now I'm finding it really nice to keep up with people I otherwise wouldn't have contact with much. I haven't seen many benefits other than that, but I've got so many new programs/services going on, that I haven't really given twitter the time it deserves just yet!

Re: Twitter - Do you "get it"?
I like twitter, I think it is neat-a nice quick way to stay in touch. I know some who think that it is reducing our "conversational" skills to less (the word limit). I can see a little of that, but I try to look at it as practice in being succienct.

Re: Twitter - Do you "get it"?
I have been on Twitter for a couple weeks now promoting OfficeArrow.
I started as @kcannella, but now use @OfficeArrow. The people who seem to thrive on Twitter are bloggers promoting their own blogs. I am about to start following all of you and your welcome to do the same. My updates are usually new OfficeArrow articles I find interesting and some other articles or general updates. Re: Twitter - Do you "get it"?
True there is a lot of cross promotion for blogs, but I think that works out well. Trying to find interesting blogs can be hit or miss and time consuming, it is easy to twitter and see a brief snippet of something decide you like it and follow them.
I think using it to promote this site is a great idea. |
