Curragh win helps put O'Brien on fast track for world record

Monday, 28 July 2008

Abrupt as it was, this could never be mistaken as merely a 15th minute of fame. Rather the success of Mastercraftsman at the Curragh yesterday varnished the eponymous reputation of his trainer with another coat of timelessness. Equestrianism: Wulschner's success adds to barren British sequence

Monday, 28 July 2008

In the clash of next year's Guineas prospects at Leopardstown last night, the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt Rip Van Winkle ended the unbeaten run of the filly Cuis Ghaire in the Tyros Stakes with a performance that would have delighted anyone clutching an ante-post voucher for the Classic on the Rowley Mile nine months hence.
