High Performance Training Complex

The Warriors High Performance Training Centre is situated at the Co-operative Community Stadium, Orrell and is the former home of the Orrell Rugby Union Club. The clubhouse has been transformed into a £2 million state-of-the-art training centre where the first team train and the reserve and academy teams also play their home matches.

The facility was kitted out in the close season of 2006 with the players moving in full time in early February 2007. The centre is the best in Super League and provides an all year round base for the club away from the JJB Stadium.

The complex houses a multi functional gym, combat zone and changing rooms. There is also a fully equipped medical room and even a plunge pool and Jacuzzi to aid player recovery.

Also located onsite is a Video room where players and coaching staff preview and review opponents, a comfortable TV room to relax, coaches offices as well as a dining room with kitchen where the players are looked after with specialist diet plans and menus.

The first team players train on the main pitch, which has a superb floodlit playing surface.

Weights Area: The players do quite a lot of work in the gym. The setup is structured with equipment for lower limb activity as well as squat racks. Other equipment includes dumb bells, treadmills, rowers, and grinders.

The Combat Zone: Combat is crucial in Rugby League. In tackling, it’s related to pulling, pushing and body angles. Grip strength is a big area in the game and the combat area is core to the training facility.

Wet Room: with a plunge pool and Jacuzzi – The plunge pool is used as a recovery tool. Rugby League is a brutal sport and a big part of the week is recovery. It refreshes the legs, helps remove toxins and gets the capillaries working. The Jacuzzi is a feel good factor and assists with players to relaxation.

Dining Room and Kitchen: The players are fed twice a day by a team of experienced cooks in their very own team environment.

Video Room and Players Relaxation Room: The cinema room is where Brian Noble and the coaching staff do all their review of the games and all the preview work of games coming up. The staff identify players in the opposition, where they can look to beat teams as well as improving our own game as individuals and as a team.

Pitch: The main pitch is floodlit and arguably offers a better playing surface than many other Super League club stadia. It is also used by the academy and reserve teams with a capacity of approximately 5,000.
