On Playstation.Blog, the precise release date of Rachet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty was announced: August 21st via the PS Store. And guess what, Europe? You are getting it the same day too! Our Japanese friends will have to wait until August 22nd, but with the time-zone difference, it is virtually the same day.
As unveiled before, the price will be $14.99 for an "action-packed 3-4 hour experience for almost the same price as a movie ticket." No word yet on whether the Blu-ray release of the PAL territories will be released the same day. For more info on this upcoming stand-alone mini-sequel, check out our hands-on impression.

I have Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction .. what's the difference?!
Is this game a "mini" sequel or what?

Without spoiling any endings, suffice to say it picks up exactly after Tools of Destruction, and looks to answer any questions posed at the end. And yes its a short game.

@Halo, well it has better graphics and production values than other games like Pain.
@Will, in NY, tickets are 10.50. So, they're right depending on where you live.

15 bucks seems reasonable, and I love the franchise, but only 3-4 hours of gameplay?! I've spent twice as long playing PJ:E after just one day and I only had to pay $10 for it. Same with PAIN and I waited until it was $5. I know what people are going to say - "Geez you paid $400 for a console and you are worried about 5 dollars?", but I'm concerned about sending a message that we are willing to spend more for less.

15 bucks for 3-4 hours isn't great, but 60 for 12 is a worse deal, and I loved Heavenly Sword. I also loved R&C;: ToD, so I'll probably pick this up. Plus, it's downloadable, so you can share the cost with friends.

almost the price of a movie ticket? that's like two movie tickets.
$8.50 * 2 = $17
$7.50 (with old college id) * 2 = $15

This is a great new concept from Sony. A downloadable game with all the graphics and shorter play time for a super reduced price. I just LOVE this idea. Hopefully we can see this idea implemented for OTHER GAMES.
I never played TOD or any other game in the series but I am about to jump in with this one. Well done.

Will you have to have TOD in the PS3 when playing QFB? or can you just D/L this without the TOD disc?
