HSV sign Mladen Petric

New signing Mladen Petric

HSV have signed the Croatian international striker Mladen Petric from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund. The 27 year old forward has signed a deal which will expire on June 30th 2012. Petric has scored 13 goals in 29 Bundesliga games so far: "We are delighted that the transfer of Mladen Petric has reached a successful conclusion. He has proved his class at club and international level", knows the HSV boss Bernd Hoffmann. "With Mladen Petric, we have signed a player who can play in several positions up front and is extremely dangerous in front of goal. We are convinced that he will increase the quality of our team", added Didi Beiersdorfer, the HSV sport director.

Petric will probably be presented to the media on Thursday, following his trip to Moldova with the Croatian national team.

Mohamed Zidan went the other way, joining up with his Mainz-mentor Jürgen Klopp in Dortmund, after failing to make the grade at HSV. He scored just 2 goals in 21 appearances for the Hamburg club. Beiersdorfer again: "We wish Mohamed good luck for his future in Dortmund."
