Trust in Luton
The Luton Town Supporters' Trust
TiL Logo Competition
KIDS TO DESIGN THE TRUST’S NEW LOGO!
Trust in Luton is delighted to announce a competition for children 11
and under to help design our new logo and invitations to take part have
already been sent to over 250 schools in Bedfordshire. As a new era
dawns at Luton Town, we felt this was an ideal opportunity to extend the
Trust’s and the Club’s involvement into our local schools by moving
forward and re-invigorating our community and youth policies.
It is our strongly held belief that by engaging with the community and
especially our local schools, we can help to establish a long-term
future for Luton Town Football Club. This view is endorsed by LTFC2020
and as you will see from the prizes on offer below, Trust in Luton has
the full backing of the Club to run this competition.
Gary Sweet, Managing Director and new custodian of Luton Town, said, "We are delighted that this initiative is taking place. Trust in Luton is a
key part of the club and helps us to work with the local community. It
is absolutely vital for Trust in Luton and Luton Town to be part of the
community and help to give kids a real insight into sport in their area.
This helps on so many levels - exercise, nutrition, teamwork, and
cultural identity to name a few. We fully support this programme and we
hope to be part of many more in the future."
We are aiming for the competition to start with the new academic year in
September 2008 and the closing date for entries received will be 30
November 2008. The winning entry will obviously become our new logo for
the foreseeable future and be included upon our website and within our
printed output. The judges will include a senior player and management
from the Club, together with representatives from the Trust’s committee.
The winner’s class will also receive a VIP day-out at a Luton Town home
match during the 2008-2009 season. Runners up prizes will include signed
memorabilia, match tickets and even some training from Luton Town
coaches! The finalists will also have their school featured in the
matchday programme and the club will help to promote the finalists in
the local press. The winner will be announced at a “by invitation
only” event in late 2008/early 2009 to be held at the Eric Morecambe
Suite at Luton Town Football Club. All schools taking part will receive
a family ticket (two adults, two children) for a League Two match in the
2008-2009 season to distribute as they see fit.
The competition rules are fairly simple. The new logo must obviously
include what is now considered to be traditional Luton Town colours. For
this competition’s purposes, we would suggest these to be white, navy
blue and orange. The logo must also have the initials "TiL" or the
words "Trust in Luton" included. Apart from those rules, the
imagination of your pupils can run wild!
We sincerely hope this is the start of a long and successful
relationship with the educational communities of Bedfordshire. Our aim
is to strengthen the bonds between the Club and the larger community in
which it serves. Football is a team sport, and by working together we
can further the success of our football club, our county and our community.
If you would like to take part in this competition, please register your
school’s interest with an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please put
“Logo competition” as the subject matter and provide contact details for
your school. As volunteers, we may need to contact someone out of normal
school hours, so an evening contact telephone number will help enormously.
