Sanjay Nirupam

Born in the remote village of Rohtas in Bihar, Sanjay Nirupam spent his childhood there and after completing his schooling, moved to Patna in 1980 for higher education. He has been active in politics since his student life and graduated in 1986 in Arts with Honours in Political Science. He moved to Delhi in 1986 and joined the weekly Panch Janya as a Sub-editor. In 1988, he received an offer from Jan-Satta, a sister publication of the Indian Express, which led to his moving to Mumbai and in 1993, Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray asked him to join Dopahar-Ka-Samna as Executive Editor. Handpicked by Bal Thackeray in 1996 to represent the party in the Rajya Sabha and propagate the party view point in the Parliament, he resigned from the Shiv Sena in March 2005 and joined the Congress party a month later. His resignation was seen a result of long standing rivalry and hostilities with the late Pramod Mahajan.

Regarding sanjay nirupan,

in his introduction he said he has come to clear the misconceptions of people towards politicians. I think he has managed to aleniate the people. He is proving that politicians are the scums that we people thought them to be. He is buying people flats coz of his poitical clout. If he can do that by just clicking his fingers, imagine what politicians would be doing for money!!!Not that we dont know that. He has entered a reality show and is passing derogatory remarks on dress codes - not participating in games. What did he it was - a cosy couch meeting over coffeee?? I think he should catch the first flight out of big boss

Some one plz get this uncoothe guy off the show, no man is man enough if he has no respect for women folk, and who is he to judge any one or their profession...And then his damn attitude to not perform the task like any other house guest...Wat is he some superior being or is every one else a lesser mortal than him...? Either play the game by the rules or pack your bags and hit the roads and sing your dumb slogans hoping to revive the lost, tragic and devoid image of politicians like him!!!

It was a good move to get a politician as a housemate. Once again, the public can see they are an inhuman self-centered rotten tribe who have no respect for women, who think they are god and can solve everyone's problem, but do they? If that were true then india would not continue to be backward the way it is. I do hope he is voted out this week so that the other housemates can breathe some clean air.

Don't be rude or interrupt others who are having a conversation. Ethnic slurs, personal insults and abuses are rather uncool. Criticise, but know where to draw the line. No point putting in personal details or links, we won't publish them. Try and write in English and please, stick to the point!
