In a clash for the vacant USBO junior middleweight title, Ishmail "The Arsenal" Arvin (15-1-4, 7 KOs) won a controversial six round TKO over Anthony "The Messenger" Thompson (23-3, 17 KOs) on Friday night at the Ibiza Nightclub in Washington, DC. Thompson suffered a bad gash over his left eye in the third round from an unintentional head clash, but dropped Arvin twice in the same round. Thompson continued to dominate, but the bout was eventually stopped by referee Malik Waleed after round six due to Thompson's cut. There was confusion after the bout, however, and instead of going to the cards for a technical decision as expected (even after commission members reviewed video of the headbutt), it was ruled Thompson could not continue and that local hero Arvin was winner by TKO.

Cruiserweight Ola "Kryptonite" Afolabi (13-1-3, 5 KOs) dropped DeLeon Tinsley (9-4-1, 5 KOs) in round one and went on to a an eight-round unanimous decision by scores of 79-73, 78-74, 77-74. Afolabi is now unbeaten in his last eleven bouts.
Undefeated light heavyweight Alexander "The Great" Johnson (6-0, 3 KOs) outpointed Zeferino Albino (3-7-2, 1 KO) in a four-rounder by scores of 40-35, 40-35, 40-36. (More)
