Over the last few months, people across the country have been asked to send in their favourite healthy recipes and the recipe book will be made up of the eight most popular recipes sent in.

This week I launched a local version of the competition with the Wakefield Express. I’m asking people in the district to send their favourite recipes in to me so we can create a Wakefield Top 8 and see how it compares to the national Top 8.

It can be your own recipe or a healthy version of a traditional dish like Spaghetti Bolognese or stir-fry. You send your entries to my office at 54 High Street, Normanton WF6 2AQ or email them to me at ed@edballs.com and I’ll compile the Wakefield Top 8.

That’s why I’ve asked the Post Office to explain what they will do to make sure that the alternative branches will be able to cope with all the additional customers and how they will ensure that no local people lose out because of their decision.

I have also asked for a meeting with West Yorkshire Transport Authority to discuss the bus routes between the branches that will close and the alternative branches to see what can be done to make things easier for people who rely on public transport to get around.
