2005-06 State Budget Support for Space Enterprise Competitive
Grant Program $2 million Budget Augmentation

We at California Space Authority are attempting to influence the State Administration and Legislature for reinstatement of State funding for the Space Enterprise Competitive Grant Program.  We are seeking a $2 million augmentation to the budget proposal. 

As the proposal moves through the Legislature, we must work to convince legislators to add $2 million in funding for this program.  Both the Senate and the Assembly Budget Subcommittees on State Administration (known both as #4) are currently meeting to discuss budget options for the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency (BTH).  When funded, the BTH will have oversight of this grant program. 

Your immediate letters of support for the Space Enterprise Competitive Grant Program to both your State Senator and your State Assemblymember are essential.  In addition, we hope you'll send a copy of this letter to the Chairman of the Subcommittees in each House of the Legislature.  Consequently, please use the attached talking points to help design a support letter on your letterhead.  Please send your support letter to the following Legislators as well as to me at the CSA office in Sacramento.
