I'M PRETTY MUCH with Donovan McNabb on this one - nothing that happens in Week 2 is likely to define a team's season, either way. An Eagles win would certainly restore the Birds to their accustomed spot among the top NFC contenders - with nearly 4 months remaining, for whatever that's worth. The giddiest of optimists - and we do have them in Philadelphia, despite everything you've heard - would start looking at Sunday's date with Pittsburgh as a Super Bowl preview.
STEWART BRADLEY, the Eagles' new middle linebacker, played every snap Sunday. The coaches' film review credited him with nine solo tackles, four assists, a sack, a tackle for a loss, and two pass breakups.
- I'M PRETTY much guessing every week, but in an opener, I'm really guessing.
- THERE'S A LOT better chance of Lorenzo Booker being the guy who helps fill Kevin Curtis' role than of Anquan Boldin doing it.
- JUST A WEEK ago, the Eagles seemed to be sailing so smoothly into training camp, which starts this afternoon with rookies and select vets reporting to the hilltop dorms at Lehigh.
