botryomycosis (bot″re-o-mi-ko┬┤sis)   a chronic purulent granulomatous bacterial infection usually caused by Staphylococcus aureus. Human infection is usually localized to the skin but may involve other organs such as the viscera and lymph nodes, especially in debilitated patients.
