The uterine horns are supported on either side by a broad ligament called the MESOMETRIUM. The ovary is enclosed in a bursa, or sack, and is attached to the uterus by the proper ovarian ligament. The uterus and ovary are supported cranially by the suspensory ligament which runs to the body wall near the last rib. Most of the mammals have a similar arrangement.
