Hot on the heels of Guitar Hero: World Tour DLC news, Activision announced today that Sting and Fuel will be major contributors to their latest music game. Sting will be a playable character in the vocal career and one of your band mates in the Police song, "Demolition Man." Meanwhile, three Tool tracks will be available on the disk: "Parabola," "Schism," Vicarious. Guitar Hero: World Tour will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3 in late October.

SANTA MONICA, CA - Sept 05, 2008, Rock and roll legend Sting and progressive metal pioneers Tool are making their video game debuts, contributing more than just music, in Activision Publishing, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: ATVI) Guitar Hero(R) World Tour.
In what will be the largest collection of artists ever to appear in a Guitar Hero game, singer-songwriter, actor, author, activist and lead singer/bassist of The Police, Sting will add his voice and likeness as an in-game character. Aspiring frontmen can take the stage as Sting throughout their vocal career or play alongside him as he performs one of The Police classics, "Demolition Man."
Hugely popular alternative metal band Tool, known for their epic, intense musical arrangements and killer visual arts, will also soon be known for their contribution to the upcoming Guitar Hero World Tour. Guitar Hero fans from all over the world will be able to rock out to "Parabola" and Grammy-award winning "Schism" from Tool's critically-acclaimed 2001 album Lateralus in addition to "Vicarious" from their 2006 Grammy-award winning album 10,000 Days. The game will also feature an all-new venue designed in collaboration with the band and highlighting the art style that has become a staple in their music videos, live shows and album artwork.
When the house lights go down this fall, a new generation of guitarists, drummers and fearless frontmen will come together and rock with Guitar Hero World Tour. The latest installment in the #1 best-selling video game franchise of 2007, Guitar Hero World Tour transforms music gaming by expanding Guitar Hero's signature guitar gameplay into a cooperative band experience that combines the most advanced wireless controllers with new revolutionary online* and offline gameplay modes including Band Career and 8-player "Battle of the Bands," which allows two full bands to compete head-to-head online for the first time ever. The game features a slick newly redesigned guitar controller, drum kit controller and a microphone, as well as an innovative Music Studio music creator that lets players compose, record, edit and share their own rock 'n' roll anthems. Music creators will also be able to share their recordings with their friends online through GHTunes(SM) where other gamers can download and play an endless supply of unique creations.
With an array of new iPhone games appearing each day, Cro-Mag Rally attempts to speed ahead of its competition with its fast paced driving gameplay.
Racing consists of a standard four-player, three-lap race around the track. An impressive nine courses are available, ranging from a desert to a medieval setting. Instead of moving forward and reverse by tilting the iPhone, the user needs to press on a forward/reverse button throughout the race. Ten cart racers are available from the start with different strengths for each. Pickups similar to what are found in Mario Kart are placed throughout the levels.
The biggest issue with Cro-Mag Rally is the lack of any progression. Everything is unlocked from the start and there are no stats compiled. Developer Pangea Software designed this as the ultimate pick up and play experience.
Controlling your character is a bit of a chore. The game is extremely sensitive to even the slightest movement; however there are options to change the sensitivity. Cro-Mag Rally's graphics are nothing special but get the job done for the handheld experience. However, heavy pop in occurs, especially when using a speed boost.
The price has recently been lowered from $10 to $6, which makes this shallow, yet fun, title easier to recommend to on-the-go gamers.
What do Superman, Zombies and an eagle eye view all have in common? They're key ingredients in "The Last Guy", that's what. The Last Guy, now available on the PlayStation Network, is a top down title which puts gamers in the role of a USF soldier sent to rescue civilians trapped throughout a city. A purple beam from outer space came down and started turning people and things into zombies. That pretty much sums up the story portion for this game, but you wouldn't get this title for the story, you get it for its fun and addicting gameplay.
Guitar Hero World Tour isn't even out yet but Red Octane is already getting gamers ready for some great downloadable content. The Smashing Pumpkins, complete with a virtual Billy Corgan, will be debuting their new single "G.L.O.W." as part of an exclusive GHWT downloadable song pack that will include "1979" and "The Everlasting Gaze". Here's hoping an in-game Homer Simpson joins the band and is seen taking cannon balls to the gut in the background.

Enigmo, which was first released for Mac OS X in 2003, is one of the first puzzle games to make its way to the iPhone. Throughout the 50 game levels, the objective is to move various forms of liquid from point A to point B in the quickest time possible. Players use items to change the direction of falling water, oil and lava drops. The level ends when 40 drops move into the proper container. Touch controls are used to zoom in and out and for positioning pieces throughout the levels.
If 50 levels aren't enough to satisfy, there are numerous additional downloadable levels available for no additional charge.
This title is not for the casual puzzle genre fan. Each level will take a while to figure out and it will be tempting to check YouTube for the solutions, especially in later levels. However, it makes it all the more satisfying when discovering the solution.
The 3-D levels work perfectly on the iPhone with simple but crisp visuals. Enigmo is unique to the app store and a refreshing puzzler that does not involve block movement found in so many of the available puzzlers out there.
The highlight of this weeks downloads are Pirates vs Ninjas Dodgeball on XBLA and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars on the Wii Channel. That's right, Pirates and Ninja's just hanging around throwing red dodgeballs at each other. I can just picture Johnny Depp running around the beach dressed like Jack Sparrow, dodgeball in hand. I'm not sure whether the game is any good or not but at least it sounds cool. Gamers can purchase Pirates vs Ninjas on Wednesday for 800MS points.
Also this week, Nintendo celebrates its 250th virtual console release, making classic Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (800 Wii Points) available along with Clu Clu Land (500 points). WiiWare fans can nab My Aquarium (500 points). Read on for all the details.
Editors Note: Looks like Pirates vs Ninjas isn't the only downloadable game on XBLA this week. Shred Nebula (800 pts) and everyone's favorite card game, Gin Rummy (400 pts) will also be available.
Rolling Stone magazine has called Locksley one of the "25 Best Bands on MySpace". I'm not exactly sure what that means, I'm more of a Facebook guy, but evidently its a compliment. I've never heard of Locksley either, my first thought was Kevin Costner was forming a band named after his character in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Either way gamers will soon be able to download three Locksley tunes.

Xbox LIVE's Summer of Arcade has reached its end and it does so in style as this week gamers can pick up the excellent Castle Crashers. The Behemoth, the studio behind side scroller Alien Hominid, are scrolling yet again...with sexy results. Don't let the $15 price tag scare you, this game has a ton of content and is a blast to play with friends, making it one of the best values on XBLA.
The first episode of "Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People" proved the red mask wearer with a Napolean complex can successfully transition from the web to a video game. True to their word Telltale will soon be releasing episode 2, "Strong Badia the Free". While we anxiously wait to see if Strong Bad can continue his strong start, check out this Pattonesque teaser trailer.
Old school gamers have a chance to relive their early gaming moments beginning this week. A popular point and click adventure title from more than 15 years ago is making a comeback this month with AGD Interactive's release of the classic Quest for Glory II: Trial By Fire. This remake of the 1990 Sierra title includes completely updated graphics, a revamped combat system, and best of all, it's free.
The developer seems to be targeting fans of the original but for those unfamiliar with the game; puzzles and multiple adventure elements are at the heart of this title.
Starting with a remake of the second game in the series seems like an odd decision, but the first Quest for Glory was already remade, albeit in 1992.
