INDIANAPOLIS — Tammy Sutton-Brown scored a career-high 26 points and the Indiana Fever set a franchise scoring record in a 103-89 win over the Phoenix Mercury in the regular-season finale for both teams on Sunday.

Indiana's previous record came in a 102-96 triple-overtime loss to New York on June 26.

Katie Douglas scored 24 points, Ebony Hoffman added 20 with a career-high four 3-pointers, and Tamika Catchings had 18 points and nine rebounds for the Fever.

Cappie Pondexter scored 23 points and Diana Taurasi added 19 for the Mercury (16-18).

The Fever (17-17) will host Detroit on Friday in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Phoenix, the defending league champion, missed the postseason.

The Fever had gone 21-13 in the regular season in each of the past three years, the only three winning seasons in franchise history.

Indiana led 57-40 at halftime. The Fever set a franchise record for most points in a first half, and it was the second-highest point total for a half in team history.

The Fever continued to roll in the second half. Bernadette Ngoyisa's turnaround jumper with a minute to go put the Fever over 100 points for the first time in team history.

Indiana shot 50 percent from the field and outscored the Mercury 30-13 at the free-throw line.

Indiana won three of its final four games this season to even its record.
