On this Wednesday, aka the calm before the storm*, America's Got Talent again was the most-watched show with 12 million total viewers, though Bones (9.71 million, up 800 thousand week-to-week) topped the 8 pm hour in demos. The CW's America's Next Top Model enjoyed a second straight week of growth, gaining 400K to hit 4.24 million.At 9 pm, 'Til Death plunged 19 percent from its season opener to 5.13 million. Similarly, Do Not Disturb (4.13 million) dropped 15 percent from its own debut. Cheers to America's Next Top Model for looking good again. Tyra Banks' reality staple had seemingly reached the end of its creative runway, but the 11th cycle has proven surprisingly fierce. Casting the transgendered Isis could've been a stunt, but she's an intriguing competitor, and the impressively diverse field ranges from a wide-eyed but small-minded Alaskan (Hannah) to a tattooed, sexually ambiguous Angelina Jolie lookalike (Elina). Episode Recap: The Ladder of Model Success | America's Next Top Model Show Blog | 9/11/2008
This week's Top Model is all about unobvious poses in unobvious places. But fear not, for Benny Ninja will be around to educate the girls on striking some interesting positions just in time for their rope ladder challenge. At the start of the episode, the models meet up with Benny and a model known for his "extreme posing" to practice their most unconventional posing. Not really what the purpose nor how effective the red sheer-fabric tube are in helping teach the gals, but it definitely gives the whole thing a bit more humor. Benny describes Hannah as being "lost in translation" and Nikeysha as looking like she either has gas or is going through labor. They are however, impressed with the hoochified Sheena.Back at the house, the girls do some bonding in the pool over a game of truth or dare which results in Sheena doing her best strip dance and Clark kissing Elina. Premise: Aspiring models compete for a chance to break into the business in UPN's breakout hit. Created and executive-produced by supermodel Tyra Banks, its formula of beautiful women plus unappealing behavior made it enormously popular and one of the more intriguing reality shows, with its wannabe cover girls living together in a Manhattan loft and, between catfights, going out on photo shoots while they vie for a modeling contract.
