RACE Reports
09/13-14/2008 Great weekend for racing action, beautiful weather and great track conditions. Saturday morning we jetted over to the track and set up our pit tent... Next off to the hotel to check in and check out the pool and the beach ohh yeah Dad gets a nice sun burn... as usual.... lol. Practice was hot in the mid 90's. Racing action on day one started at 6pm with 50 motos and a 2 moto transfer. Ethan had some tough competition racing 2 of the State's fastest 8 novice riders and Tyler the 8 rookie Champion who just moved up to Novice. This was the first true test for Ethan in a race against other 8 Novice riders. Pumping and pedaling hard he finished 3-3-3-3 on day. On day two SPEED E was a little tired from a late night swim in the pool and a restless night sleeping. The first 3 motos 4-4-4 where a little on the weak side for Ethan, trying out a new line around the did not work out, but he pulled out a great finish in the Main putting in a close 3rd place finish for the day.... 4-4-4-3. Overall Ethan "SPEED E" Hazel had a fun and exciting weekend.
08/16/2008: USA BMX Riverview, first race of the Florida State Summer Series. Hot start to a summer day, new track for Ethan, the track layout was very nice and flowing, surface was a little soft from all the summer Florida rain. The starting gate was a little insane, just a little on the steep side. Weather conditions looked great till racing got underway, when the rain started falling. After to sessions of rain delays racing was able to be completed. The turn out was really low in 8 novice with only 2 riders, so classes where combined 8 novice and 8 expert. Ethan had a very good showing 2-2-2-2 in the first race and 2-2-2-1 in the second race coming in a very close second to one of the expert riders.
08/10/2008: St Cloud, first race as a new Novice rider and Ethan puts in a strong practice and hard effort racing finishing a close second to one of the State's top 8 novice riders, finishing up 2-2-2-2 for the day.
08/01/2008: Summer has been all but rained out, racing has been very limited with only a few practice sessions tossed in here and there. The Ethan and Dad made the decision to do a bump up to Novice to advance Ethan's level of competition.
05/17/2008: State Championship St Cloud: Ethan does great all day, finishing 1-1-1 in his motos then making it through the semi to the main. Tough competition in the main and Ethan pulls out a second place for the day. Only 18 point behind Tyler Ethan
