A teenager has been charged with murder after he allegedly fled in the car of a man found dead in a house destroyed by fire in northern NSW.
The 64-year-old's body was discovered early this morning at a property at Tingha.
The man's panel van was not at the property and neighbours reported their son missing about 7.30am (AEST).
Police arrested the teenager in Stirling Street, Inverell after they found a car he was allegedly driving in the town about 3.30pm (AEST).
The teenager was taken to Inverell Police Station and charged with murder.
A post mortem examination will determine the cause of the man's death.
The teenager is expected to appear in the Glen Innes Childrens Court on today.
