Synopsis

At 2:00 a.m. today, the eye of Typhoon  "MARCE"  was located based on satellite and surface data at 380 kms North Northeast of Basco, Batanes (23.8°N, 123.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 7 kph.  

Forecast

Batanes Group of Islands will experience rains and gusty winds. While, Luzon and the western section of Visayas will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Luzon and Western Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southwest with slight to moderate seas except during thunderstorms.
