After the Fire: Seminole County Animal Services
It's been a month since the Seminole County Animal Services shelter suffered a devastating fire that killed seven dogs and 32 cats. The county hasn't yet begun to rebuild. In the meantime, the shelter staff is making due with limited space and resources. They are gearing up for the Pet Adopt-a Thon on March 17.

John P. Ellis II, 55, learned to take photographs after suffering from a stroke in 2002. Once homeless and addicted to drugs, he has spent the past two years documenting the homeless and afflicted, as well as longtime residents of Parramore. Born in Parramore, he knows the area well, and much of his family history is embedded in the buildings and streets. His father was a civil rights activist. (To read an article about Ellis, click here.
