The Big Ten Network will honor the conference’s top plays, games, performers and performances of 2007-08 during the Big Ten Awards Show. The hour-long program, hosted by Dave Revsine, Mike Hall and Rick Pizzo, debuts at 10 p.m. ET on Friday.

Track and Field Wraps Up Competition at NCAA Championships 
With a fourth-place finish, the Penn State women’s track and field team posted its highest NCAA showing in school history.  Senior Shana Cox led the way for the Nittany Lions claiming the 400-meter title while anchoring the winning 4x400-meter relay team.  The Michigan women placed seventh overall behind NCAA title performances from Tiffany Ofili (100 hurdles) and Geena Gall (800 meters).

Four Big Ten Quarterbacks Named to Golden Arms Watch List
Michigan State’s Brian Hoyer, Northwestern’s C.J. Bachér, Ohio State’s Todd Boeckman and Purdue’s Curtis Painter have all been named to the 2008 Johnny Unitas Golden Arms Award watch list.  Established in 1984, the award is given to college football’s top quarterback at the end of every season.

Five Student-Athletes Recognized as All-Americans by American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)
The 2008 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I Baseball All-America teams yielded five Big Ten representatives, as announced on Sunday.  Claiming spots on the second team are Indiana’s Josh Phegley and Michigan’s Chris Fetter and Zach Putnam.  The third team honors Illinois’ Kyle Hudson and Michigan’s Nate Recknagel.

Hawkeye Assistant Earns Olympic Berth
University of Iowa Assistant Wrestling Coach Doug Schwab earned a spot on the 2008 United States Olympic Freestyle Wrestling team by winning the 145.5-pound bracket at the Olympic Team Trials in Las Vegas, NV, last weekend. Schwab defeated former Hawkeye Bill Zadick in the championship match (1-0, 1-0; 1-0, 1-1, 2-1) to earn his first Olympic berth.

PSU’s Redden Qualifies for the 2008 Summer Olympics
Former Penn State student and current Athletic Department employee Maggie Redden qualified for the United States 2008 Beijing Paralympics track team on June 15 in Tempe, Ariz. Redden will run in the 100, 200, and 400-meter track events.
