Thanks for the comment anonymous.

Interesting to see that Costigan wants to reunite with Bennett even though he was sacked from the Broncos a few years ago.

And apologies about the lack of content on the site in recent times. It's been pretty busy lately for both myself and BroncoKiwi. Hopefully we can get some writing happening over the next week or so!

no problem mate, its a good site. In terms of rumors i have heard that the Dogs are interested in Darius Boyd and that they are either trying to do an offer with the dragons to give back morris and instead purchase boyd or else take both from the dragons. Have you heard anything about who dragons are considering siging? Also, i hear Lockyer has purchased property in Blakehurst (Sydney) and is looking to link up with the dragons next year as a trainer (i.e. he will retire from the broncos) - i'm not sure how true but it sounds reasonable.

I heard that one about Boyd as well but I'm fairly certain that he's going to follow Bennett to the Dragons next season.

As for the Lockyer one, he's been saying in the media he wants to see out his current contract, so I'm going to take his word on that.

Also, watch out for the Broncos to announce the signing of a dummy half in the near future. Not quite sure who it is though..

Thanks for those. I'll add some of them in.

Would you happen to have a link to a news article about the signings of Armit and Cleal? I had a quick look around on the internet but I couldn't find anything.

Just want to double check to make sure.

I was at the Dragons V Warriors game at WIN and Reynoldson said he was starting a personal training business next year during the speeches after the game. He's not playing in the NRL from what he was saying.

Thanks for those rumours Jayz. Well spotted.

More players leaving the NRL, it's starting to get a bit tiresome..

And by the way, what are your feelings about this week's match previews? Please feel free to add your thoughts to those as well!

Big Hype going into the match with the dragons and manly. Dragons have got a really good record against them, including at brookvale (Dragons 20-18 Manly This year) I would love to see dragons win but I think Manly are going to fire up on them

Comment by ethos

September 13th 2008 00:39
I've just updated the Saturday night preview article, so please have a read.

I tend to agree with your thoughts on the game, Manly will come out all guns blazing. The Dragons have got the skill though, it'll go right down to the wire I feel.

Comment by losing respect for the game

September 15th 2008 09:51
this is bulls**t why r so many topname players going overseas i am a young man who is losing all respect for the game i once loved as many people i have seen or talked to about why cant the nrl put the salary cap up so players dont feel they have to go there. Its not there fault but i do belive some sort of loyatie is due, even if its not for there club they could at least stay in the countrie and finish there careas here. i no the salary cap is to keep the teams far and which it has been doing, showing especailly in this years comp but i belive thats partly due to all the top name players leaving to overseas clubs. I belive clubs and the NRL should do more to keep players here shawly by now you would have noticed the current system isnt working and i belive most players are not to be blamed on there desicions but in cases like SBW that is a dog act to the game that made him who he is today and to all his teammates and fans [if he ever is game enough to come back to the countrie someone needs to show him what respect is all about], all the young players look up 2 the older ones and when they see them go for the money why shouldnt they. I just think its rediculas how we r losing all the top players what has it got to come to before action is taken or will we soon be left with a competion full of talent like a hair on a monkeys ball. I could sitt here all night carring on how the game will one day be nothing in this countrie but i will leave u with my final thought. is this a big plan from the NRL and the soccer assosiations to tear abart the game and send the fans to such a girls game like soccer i think it verywell couldbe cause thats excatually wats happening.. will someone save the game of true champions before we lose it forever.. what ever happened to loyaltie.

'Loosing respect for the game'
Mate i know how it feels like to have some of the best players in the world leave the NRL competition to go play in the ESL,French Rugby or wateva. Not all players are like this though, look at Greg Inglis, resigned by the Storm on a long term countract. Thats loyalty. Also,we may be losing some of the best players of the world, but we are also gaining some young superstars from the Toyota cup U20s competition. Chris Sandow, a player once in the Toyota Cup, now playing 1st grade for Rabbitohs, who earlier in the season hadn't won a match, until he came along...

Just don't worry about the superstars leaving, they are doing it for their careers. Just look st the shining superstarts coming through from the Toyota Cup

Cheers Mate

yer jayz you could b rite. we have magnificant stars rising up through the ranks but wats to say they wont leave also who cares if greg inglas has signed a long contract because that doesnt mean if some1 offers him better money overseas he wont take it just like SBW i agree with "losing respect 4 the game" there is no loyaltie no more its all about the money. something needs to happen to keep the stars here. they need to teach the young stars somthing about loyalie. we need less people defending this because all it is doing is letting the nrl think its ok its all crap. all that is happening is the other leages overseas r benifiting from the nrl and all the work they do to build the stars wats the point in continuing if we r just letting quaility players go all to keep the game "fair" . the nrl should b taking more forward steps instead of bakwards while the clubs overseas profit from our stars why cant they build up there on stars instead of buying ours. they have heaps more people than australia but have a bunch of pussys who r scared 4 a little contact and wanna play there soccer. this is crap we r losing our game to the overseas market.

Good to see some discussion guys!

Personally, I think the NRL need to introduce salary cap concessions of some sort for long serving players. The likes of Danny Buderus, Brett Hodgson and Steve Menzies have the right to earn one big final paycheck in Australia.

And thanks to all for scouting out some signings. I'll update the article where relevant.
