Arashi will provide the theme song for the live action movie "Yatterman," which is due to hit cinemas on March 7th. Although a physical release for Believe has not yet been determined, the song is said to be a "catchy number." With the casting of renowned actress Fukada Kyoko and Arashi member Sho Sakurai, the movie has already gained great media attention. Horror punk band BALZAC has announced the release of three items for December. First, the compilation CD, THE BIRTH OF EVIL and DVD, HATRED LIES DEEP INSIDE, will both be released on December 5th. The CD will include their first two demo tapes remixed and remastered with the band's current line-up. The DVD will contain music videos from every single track on their HATRED album, along with documentary footage from their European tour in August.

Kimura Kaela will release her 13th single, Doka, on January 28th. The title track is her first ballad single, described as a song with delicate melodies. The single will also include the b-side Phone, the CM song for Pokka's Kireto Lemon drink, plus their instrumental counterparts.

Following the release of her best-selling album, BEST DESTINY, Miliyah Kato will release a new live DVD on December 10th. TOKYO STAR Tour 2008 will feature footage from her live on June 27th at ZEPP TOKYO, as well as making-of footage.

One month later, on January 28th, the singer will release her new single, 20-CRY-. The title track will be used as the theme for the cellphone drama of the same name, though other details aren't currently known.

On February 4th, Dir en grey will release their latest DVD, A KNOT OF. The DVD will include excerpts from fan club-only DVD material, condensed into one DVD. It will feature footage from 2005, 2006, 2007, including that from their It withers and withers tour, Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, THE FAMILY VALUES TOUR, TOUR07 MARROW OF A BONE and more.

The DVD will also be released in France and Finland on February 4th. However, the DVD is scheduled for an earlier release, February 2nd, in the UK, Spain and Portugal, and the USA and Canada on the 3rd. Pop singer-songwriter Hata Motohiro announced the release of his new single, Asa ga kuru mae ni, for January 21st. The single will contain four tracks, including two live songs taken from his latest tour. The CD+DVD version will include live footage from Hata Motohiro's acoustic concert on May 4th at Kanagawa Kenmin Hall.

On the same day, the singer will release a premium version of his 2007 mini-album Bokura wo tsunagu mono, limited to 20,000 copies. The mini-album will include three bonus tracks, Yawaraka na gogo ni osoi choshoku wo, Pool and Fuukei, plus a bonus DVD with footage taken from his Christmas Premium Live at Tsukimiru kimi omou on December 25, 2006.

DJ OZMA held a press conference on Thursday to announce that he is "retiring" at the end of this year. He claims that he has been on the decline and has reached his limits, but hopes to continue producing artists and creating music and would also like to travel.

Additionally, he introduced Seigo Maki, whom he named as the successor to the DJ OZMA name. It is unclear what role Maki, whom DJ OZMA met at a video rental store, will take on as the new DJ OZMA.

DJ OZMA last single, MASURAO, will be out on December 3rd. His final album, I LOVE PARTY PEOPLE 3, will be released on December 31st, and he will hold his farewell concert on December 13th at Yokohama Arena.

Munetaka Higuchi, drummer and co-founder of the legendary and very influencial heavy metal band LOUDNESS, has passed away. Only 49-years old, he had been battling liver cancer for a while. Despite many treatments and a major operation, his condition continued to deteriorate and he died on the morning of November 30th in a hospital in Osaka. He will be missed by many.
