Senior captain Matt Cohen became Penn State's fifth Nissen-Emery Award winner when he was named the 2007 recipient last April. Bestowed in recognition of outstanding athletic achievement, academic excellence, and sportsmanship, the Nissen-Emery Award is the highest honor presented in collegiate gymnastics. Centrally located on the Penn State campus, the White Building has been home to Nittany Lion men's gymnastics team since 1976. Situated just one block from the dormitory that houses many of the Penn State gymnasts, it was extensively renovated during the summer and fall of 2000.
