Acting on AIDS

Anam Cara
"Soul friend" in the Celtic Christian tradition, this ministry links faculty/staff, upperclassmen, underclassmen in one-on-one mentoring relationships intended to foster deep connections and spiritual growth. (Oscar Ndao, Student Coordinator)

Christian Center Rescue Mission
Encounter Christ as you serve among the homeless in Anderson. (Breann Patuzzi, Student Coordinator)

Generation to Generation
Help end the isolation and loneliness that the elderly often feel by visiting residents of Anderson nursing homes. (Tiara Nash, Student Coordinator)

Lunch Buddies
Share lunch with an at-risk child at a local elementary school each week. Make a new friend and bring encouragement and support in the process. (Dana Nahas, Student Coordinator)

Neighbors
Neighbors is a ministry that reaches out to neighborhoods that surround AU's campus. Students go door-to-door, spreading Christ's love by building relationships through service, prayer, and conversation. Prayer Ministry
The prayer ministry offers a chance to experience the reality and power of prayer with other students through workshops and prayer groups. The prayer ministry also oversees The Prayer Room, located in the Morrison House basement, which is open to all. (Meaghan Crump, Student Coordinator)

Prison Ministry
Share a few hours with juvenile inmates at local detention centers, building relationships with them and helping them to find freedom in their lives. (Dominique Booker and Isaac Horwedel, Student Coordinators)

Reading Circles
Student- and faculty/staff-led book discussions that meet once a week to explore topics that can range from globalization to the reality of grace in our daily lives. Join one to transform how you see and experience God, yourself and the world around you. (Lauren Brake, Student Coordinator)

Study Buddies
Be a friend and academic tutor to children at local shelters and after school programs. (Alexandria Green, Student Coordinator)

Vision Revision
Vision Revision brings to campus artists, workshops, concerts, art shows and a week of chapels that will encourage the imagination and the arts as avenues through which to see life, faith and God from new perspectives. (Ally Long, Student Coordinator)
