Texas Rangers left-hander Matt Harrison has showed promise in his first 12 major league starts.

The Texas Rangers haven't rolled out this many rookie or first-year starting pitchers since 1986. And while the numbers might not show it, putting those guys out there and having the guts to stick with them may end up paying big dividends, writes Evan Grant in this week's newsletter.

Which future star should Texas Rangers trade for pitching?
Over the course of the last couple of days, er, weeks, um, months, no, better make that years, I've received more than a couple of letters from nice folks suggesting the Rangers need to acquire some more pitching. Keen observer that beat writer Evan Grant is, he's even starting to think this may be some kind of trend.

Texas Rangers can afford to take their time on trades
The Texas Rangers should and will trade a catcher. Maybe even two. They just don't have to do it this week, writes Evan Grant in this week's Inside the Rangers newsletter.

Josh Hamilton finished second in Monday's Home Run Derby, but he was the talk of the event.

The Home Run Derby performance gave Josh Hamilton the largest stage he’s ever had to tell his story and it will give him a continuing platform to do so. A byproduct, though, is that it’s going to raise attention to that little club down in Texas, writes Evan Grant in this week's Inside the Rangers newsletter.

Deciding Bradley's fate is enough to give Texas Rangers a headache
You know you thought this when the Rangers signed Milton Bradley last winter: "Oh, now this is going to cause some headaches." You were right, too. And it has nothing to do with Bradley's desire to introduce himself to Kansas City broadcaster Ryan Lefebvre last week. The headaches are over what to do with him, Rangers' beat writer Evan Grant says.

The chance to see Josh Hamilton, one of the hottest hitters in baseball, hasn't helped the Texas Rangers draw large crowds.

It is June. The Texas Rangers' overall record is probably slightly better than you thought it would be. Josh Hamilton is a Sports Illustrated cover boy AND the most exciting player in baseball. And the Rangers are on a pace for less than two million fans, writes Evan Grant in this week's Inside the Rangers newsletter. Why is that?

All-Star? Texas Rangers' Kinsler deserves it
Before all the Yankee Stadium All-Star Game hoopla begins, can there be any doubt that a Ranger belongs on the AL club as a starter having the best offensive year at his position? Sure, a pretty good case can be made for Josh Hamilton, but don't forget about second baseman Ian Kinsler.

Blalock isn't reason for Young's potential move
Two weeks ago, Hank Blalock decided he'd move to first base. MIchael Young may move to third in the future. But the two moves have nothing to do with each other.
