Media Control in China: New edition released
July 25, 2006
Human Rights in China (HRIC) is pleased to announce the publication of a revised and expanded Chinese-language edition of Media Control in China (Wusuo Zhongguo) by He Qinglian, a senior research scholar in residence at HRIC. The 2004 edition of the report provided valuable analyses and insights into the official Chinese media control system. The revised edition includes updated chapters and an expanded section on the Internet.
In response to many requests following publication of the original edition, a full English translation of the new edition is nearing completion, and we expect it to be released in early autumn. A special book preview, "The Hijacked Potential of China's Internet," appears in the current issue (No. 2, 2006) of China Rights Forum.
