The deadline for this year's Halloween Ghost Story Writing Contest is now less than one week away, so if you can only write on the weekends, this is your last weekend for writing.

As longtime Saugus.net readers know, we remove the Yard Sales page from the sidebar when the yard sales season ends and yard sale activity on the page dies down. So far though the activity there hasn't stopped, and we won't remove it until we go through at least one full week without a posted yard sale.

The Saugus Rotary Club site was recently updated.

There are only two more weekends before October 23^rd (this year's Halloween Writing Contest deadline). If you can only write on weekends and plan to enter this year, be aware that the deadline is the 23^rd this year and not the 26^th as it has been in years past.

The Saugus Historical Society site was updated today.

Saugus.org was updated today.

This is just a reminder that the annual Topsfield Fair is now well underway. A few Saugus companies and organizations participate in it regularly (like Sullivan's Old Fashioned Cider and the Kowloon Restaurant; if you know of more please let us know). This is an event that incorporates all of Essex County (and even a bit beyond), not just Saugus, and has quite a long history. More information has been posted in the calendar.
