Building up the past
Phil Skinner / pskinner@ajc.com
An authentic Native American hunting lodge takes shape in Alpharetta. Clay, straw, water — and passion — are combined in a traditional manner to make this hunting lodge come alive. Several hundred years ago hunters would gather here to prepare for the fall hunt. It took several months for Tom Blue Wolf and his crew to build this replica by hand at the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center. The park is open daily from 8 a.m. to dusk. • See and hear about the building of the lodge | Autrey Mill's Web site
