Stephen McGee completed 5-of-8 passes for 58 yards, including a 25-yarder to Jamie McCoy, on Saturday during Texas A&M's annual spring game.

About 32,000 fans turned out for a preview of Mike Sherman's first season as head coach of the Aggies. Sherman took over in late 2007 following Dennis Franchione's resignation after five tumultuous years.

The Aggies squad led by McGee and Tommy Dorman outscored the group quarterbacked by Jerrod Johnson and Ryan Tannehill 14-3 over two quarters.

In the second half, the Aggies ran situation plays such as the two-minute offense, overtime and goal line.

In the scrimmage's first drive, Mike Goodson had eight carries for 58 yards. McGee culminated the drive with a 1-yard run.

Johnson led his squad on a drive that ended with a 44-yard field goal by Matt Szymanski. Bradley Stephens had 41 yards on five carries.

On the next drive, with Dorman at the helm, Cornell Tarrant broke away for a 40-yard touchdown run down the left sideline. He finished the day with a game-high 59 yards on just four carries.

McCoy was the top receiver with two catches for 31 yards.

Tannehill went 6-of-10 passing for 50 yards.

Defensive back Chevar Bryson had a length-of-the-field interception return for a touchdown.

The Aggies open the season Aug. 30 at home against Arkansas State.
