A fun night at Scorecards!

HOUSTON (July 9, 2008) %u2013 Continental Airline tickets, a Wii game system, a city-wide YMCA membership, and Astros tickets were just some of the in-demand items the Public Relations Society of America/Houston Chapter members and friends %u201Csnapped up%u201D during the annual silent auction, held in conjunction with the Excalibur Awards program on June 12. The event grossed more than $4,700 and benefited the Public Relations Foundation of Houston (PRFH), the Chapter%u2019s scholarship and grants fund. PRFH helps area students studying PR, journalism, and communications defray college expenses.

The 2008 Commitment to Leadership Award was presented in conjunction with the annual United Way Project Blueprint Graduation celebration. This year%u2019s award recipient is Ana Calvo. As a person who has overcome physical challenges, Calvo is committed to serving persons with disabilities and advocating for their rights through legislation and policy change.
