Bradford moved second in League Two after substitute Barry Conlon's late winner clinched victory over Bury.
Nicky Law had gone close for the Bantams in the first half when he scuffed wide from Omar Daley's cross
Bury threatened after the break when Rhys Evans turned Efe Sodje's header over and then saved Andy Bishop's shot at the second attempt.
But Conlon pounced five minutes from the end, heading home the rebound after Graeme Lee's free-kick hit the bar.
