KBP Direct Exporter of Defense Products
and Services
The KBP-developed weapons are supplied on a
large scale to various countries of the world. These were
first the Fagot and Konkurs ATGWs, ZU-23 air defense towed
mounts, AK-306 and AK-630 shipborne air defense mounts, PM
and APS pistols, GSh aircraft guns. Thousands of the MiG-21,
MiG-23, MiG-27, MiG-29, SU-24, Su-25
aircraft and Mi-24, Mi-35 helicopters equipped with GSh guns
are in service in dozens of countries. At present precision-guided
weapon systems of different applications antitank,
artillery, air defense make up the bulk of export.
KBP has its offices in several countries and
plans to increase their number. To coordinate their activity,
a Moscow-based subsidiary was established in 1995 which was
assigned the following tasks:
- providing the would-be customers with first-hand information
about the KBP export potential;
- conducting marketing studies;
- holding preliminary consultations and negotiations;
- maintaining working contacts with foreign customers and
partners.
KBP offers licenses and technical documentation
for production abroad, and proposes for export the following
types of weapons:
- antitank missile systems and assault armaments;
- weapon systems for main battle tanks and lightly armored
vehicles;
- guided artillery projectiles and guided missile systems;
- short-range air defense systems;
- gun armament and associated ammunition;
- combat small arms;
- hunting and sporting guns and associated ammunition.
Test equipment and training facilities are
developed for each weapon system. They constitute an integral
part of the armament, and are exported along with weapon systems.
At foreign customer's request, in the same fields KBP is prepared
to conduct R&D to build new weapons or modernize those
in service both independently and in cooperation with technologically
advanced companies from around the world.
