Polish duo Mariusz Fyrsternberg and Marcin Matkowski will replace the doubles pairing of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram (pictured), after Erlich had to withdraw from Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai due to an ongoing elbow problem.

Erlich who has not played since the US Open, first injured the elbow during Wimbledon and rested post-US Open in an attempt to be ready for the Masters Cup.

"Since the US Open I had the one goal in my mind of trying to be healthy and ready for Shanghai, unfortunately that is not the case and I need to withdraw from the Tennis Masters Cup due to the elbow problem.

"It is very disappointing to miss the last Masters Cup in that beautiful venue Shanghai, especially that for the first time in the last four years we have qualified as one of the top four teams," said Erlich, who will now seek further treatment in preparation for a return to action in Australia in 2009.
