Terry McAuliffe For Virginia Governor?

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in Bad Decisions, Democrats, Virginia

The king of the Democratic hacks just won’t go away?
Seriously, I watch him talk and my skin crawls. The guy is so oily that just reading this story makes me want to go take a shower.
Ugh…

Fox News Calls Virginia For Obama

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Virginia

That’s right. Fox News.
They’ve actually been very aggressive tonight.
However…I’m not so sure. I think they could be right, but it’s a bit too early for this call.
Still, it wouldn’t surprise me.

TIME/CNN: McCain, Obama Split Battlegrounds

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Polls, Virginia

The big news here is that Colorado is really starting to turn blue, and nearly every news organization has changed it to lean Obama.
Because while wins in Georgia and Missouri would be nice, Obama doesn’t need them. But he does need wins in Colorado, Virginia and Nevada if he doesn’t want to worry about Ohio, [...]

“Real Virginians”

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Dumb Things Said By Smart People, McCain, Video, Virginia

I wonder how a third of the voting population would react to the McCain’s Nancy Pfotenhauer characterizing them as basically “fake” Virginians.

And even given the chance to take it back, she didn’t? No wonder Virginia’s turning blue this year.
I can’t wait for Doug to weigh in on this.

Virginia GOP Chairman Compares Obama To Osama

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Partisan Nonsense, Virginia

I’ve been posting a lot recently about the various attempts to paint Obama as foreigner, a muslim, of Arab decent, a friend of terrorists and a terrorist himself.
Well, now this is the first (to my knowledge) that explicitly involves a high ranking member of the GOP, at least at the state level.
From TIME:

Swing State Polls Signal Big Electoral Shift For Obama

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Florida, McCain, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Polls, Virginia

Earlier I shared some electoral projections that hinted at an Obama blowout, and now I have two sets of swing state polls that provide even more good news for his camp.
The key here is that Obama has crossed the 50% threshold in most of these polls with just a little more than a month [...]

Why Do I Like Mark Warner?

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Democrats, Virginia

Because of bi-partisanship like this…
You know, I spent 20 years in business. If you ran a company whose only strategy was to tear down the competition, it wouldn’t last long. So why is this wisdom so hard to find in Washington? I know we’re at the Democratic Convention, but if an idea works, it really [...]

…and talking…
Kaine insisted that he has “no hints about timing” for the veep rollout, whoever the choice may be. But he doesn’t seem to mind the [...]

Obama Betting Big On Virginia

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Democrats, Virginia

Note: I posted this yesterday, but didn’t realize that half the story didn’t show up. Yikes! My apologies. Reposted!
First I reported about Obama’s big push in Missouri, then I talked about a renewed push in Iowa.
Today, I read about a similar move in Virginia.
