WRITE AWAY UK LIMITED  manages a consultancy network and runs workshops and training days for teachers, librarians, parent groups and family literacy groups. Specialising in reader development, creative writing, drama and cross-arts education,  we can tailor bespoke sessions to meet the interests and requirements of individual groups and organisations.

Write Away also provides education consultancy for publishers including  the writing of resources, conference presentations and consultation reports.

Nikki Gamble, Director of Write Away, is an Associate Consultant at the University of London, Institute of Education and teaches primary PGCE and GTP students at the Urban Learning Foundation in Tower Hamlets.

Read to Inspire is an annual conference seriesfor students in Initial Teacher Training which is sponsored by children's book publishers. The project seeks to promote contemporary children's books, to support the role of authors in education and to generate enthusiasm for reading amongst new teachers.

  In 2007 - 8 we are running over 40 events. Themes include:

War and Peace in Children's Books

Boys do Read: reflections on gender and reading

In the Picture: picturebooks and visual literacy

Bringing the Past to Life

Classics for the Twenty-first Century

Reaching Readers Other Books Cannot Reach - comabaing the myth of the reluctant reader

Connecting Cultures: children's books for a culturally diverse society
