The story of Poison My Blood starts in 2005. The guys all hailed from a
town called Landen (Belgium), the home town of Circle, one of the biggest
local hardcore bands of that period. Of course this was a major influence for
the band, even though you can’t really hear that in their music.
With their first line-up (Wouter L’Homme(vocals), Oskar Declippel(bass), Stijn
Borgers(guitar), Frederik De Roeck(guitar), Arne Van Den Broecke(drums)) they
recorded a 4 track demo EP named ‘Harito’. In less than a year they sold over
200 copies on shows only! Unfortunately their second guitar player at the
time, Frederik De Roeck, decided he had to concentrate on other things in his
life and left the band. Which caused Koen Delanghe to join the band,
making Poison My Blood even stronger with his amazing lead-guitar work. With
these changes, the band got more positive comments and bigger shows,
being an extra stimulus for the quintet to rock like hell.
In the meantime Poison My Blood has gone through some line-up changes.
Tim Moens took over drums in the summer of 2008 on and Tom Verryken became
the new bass player. Over the years the band has created a more adult and
personal sound. Even though the members are still pretty young they create
their own melodic and slightly progressive sound in the huge metal/hardcore
environment. You can expect technical guitar riffs, heavy breakdowns and
brutal vocals combined in a heartbreaking atmosphere. Poison My Blood's
sound has often been compared to Misery Signals, Twelve Tribes or Shai
Hulud.
This five piece is full of ambition and motivation, resulting in
steaming and energetic shows. No matter the location, circumstances or
whatever: Poison My Blood will go to the fullest. The band is their way to
escape from everyday life and do something where they will put their
heart and soul in, which results in a very charismatic live show.
So far the band has played and toured in Belgium, The Netherlands, France,
Germany and the United Kingdom. This has given them the exposure and
contacts which will definitely open doors for their future endeavors.
They have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with bands such as The
Chariot, The Warriors, Cold As Life, The Banner, Architects, For The Fallen Dreams, Salt The Wound, Machinemade God, Born From Pain and many more!
