The Division II tourney took an 11-day breather after a wild first weekend of action before Thanksgiving. Now things ramped up again early Thursday afternoon when California (Pa.) was knocked off in quarterfinal action by Cal State San Bernardino. Truman also advanced.

Billikens Make History In Opening Match

Only four teams began their quests for the Division I national title on Thursday, but one of them is No. 13 seed Saint Louis, who earned the first-ever Tournament in program history, downing Alabama A&M;, 3-0. The Billikens are followed by Michigan and Kentucky in the Lexington Regional tonight with the rest of the field of 64 getting underway on Friday.

BCS Favors Sooners

Oklahoma jumped past Texas into the second spot in the BCS Standings and earned a spot in the Big 12 title game after the standings broke a three-way tie atop the Big 12 South.

D-I XC: Gale-Force Win

Oregon's Galen Rupp sprinted to a win in the men's race to pace his team's title. On the women's side, Sally Kipyego took the individual crown and Washington won the team race. .
