Kwai Chung Container Terminals

Address:Kwai Chung Container Port Road

Information:

From the Lai King area, you can have an excellent view of the Kwai Chung Container Terminals, the world's busiest container terminals. You leave MTR Lai King Station via Exit A1, turn right and walk straight along Lai King Hill Road until you see the Salvation Army Winifred Mary Cheung Morning Hope School. You will get a great view of the Terminals.

Kwai Chung has eight terminals. In 1999, Hong Kong's total throughput was approximately 16.1 million twenty-foot equivalent units.

Transport:

Take the minibus designated for each of the terminals
from MTR Kwai Fong Station, or walk from MTR Lai
King Station for 10 to 20 minutes.。

Kwai Tsing Reunification Health Trail

Address:Liu To Road, Tsing Yi

Information:

The trail at the Liu To Village, Tsing Yi, embraced by picturesque scenery, is a popular spot for morning hikers and visitors. It is about 6.2 km and overlooks the Tsing Ma Bridge, Ting Kau Bridege and developments in west Tsing Yi. Hikers may take a rest in pavilions along the trail.

Transport:

Take bus No. 248M at Maritime Square, or green minibus No. 405A at Tsing Yi Ferry Pier, then reach the bus terminus at Tsing Yan Temporary Housing Area. Walk up the hill along the slope beside the terminus and you will see the entrance of the Trail. Its exit is at Tsing Yi Road West opposite to Ching Wah Court. Proceed along Tsing Yi Road West towards Cheung Hong Estate and you will reach Ching Hong Road. You may return to Maritime Square by taking bus No. 249M.

青嶼幹線觀景台

Address:新界青衣島西南部

Information:

位於青衣西北部,可俯瞰西面的青馬大橋及北面的汀九橋,同時亦是觀賞馬灣海峽及汀九海灘的最佳地點。觀景台佔地約18,800平方米,包括一座高於地面的平台、青馬大橋和汀九橋組件戶外展覽、青嶼幹線訪客中心及一系列造型生動的模型。除了一棵百年松樹外,自1999年在觀景台舉辦了洋紫荊種植活動後,該處現時種有超過1,000棵洋紫荊及38,000棵杜鵑花。

前往青嶼幹線觀景台及訪客中心的交通安排:可於青衣城巴士總站乘搭專線小巴308M往返青嶼幹線觀景台及訪客中心,
時間如下:
星期一至五
(由青衣城開出)上午十時至下午四時
(由觀景台開出)上午十時三十分至下午四時三十分
星期六、日及公眾假期
(由青衣城開出)上午九時三十分至下午六時三十分
(由觀景台開出)上午十時至下午七時
,若自行駕車前往,可取道青嶼幹線或長青隧道。該處設有公眾停車場供遊使用。

Tsing Ma Bridge

Address:Southwest part of Tsing Yi Island

Information:

Every year many millions of people use the Tsing Ma Bridge without actually getting a close-up view of this modern-day engineering accomplishment of breathtaking skill -- the world's longest suspension bridge carrying road and rail traffic.

Tin Hau Temple

Address:Chung Mei Lower Village, Tsing Yi

Information:

The Temple worships“Tin Hau”or the Queen of Heaven. Every year the Tin Hau festival (23rd of March of the lunar calendar) attracts many worshippers to pray for fine weather and peace. The main features of the Tin Hau Festival are last for about five days, and the competition for the best fa pau or floral shrines. Participating bodies come from various districts in the territory and the adjudication panel is made up of community leaders and government officials.


Transport:

It is located in Tsing Yi Chung Mei Lower Village. Take bus 44M and alight at Tsing Yi Police Station. Then walk along Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road until you reach the fire station. The Temple is just behind it. You may also take bus No. 249M at Maritime Square, Tsing Yi Station and alight at the other side of the fire station.

Chun Kwan Temple

Address:Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road

Information:

The Temple worships“Chun Kwan”, a commoner surnamed NG who helped the local government to combat pirates around the Guangdong area during the South Sung Dynasty (1127-1279 AD). To commemorate his heroic after his death, the Emperor bestowed on him the title“Chun Kwan”, and people started to worship him as a god. The original Chun Kwan Temple was built about 100 years ago near the waterfront. The temple was relocated to the present site to make way for developments in the mid 1980's.

Chun Kwan’s birthday is on the 15th of March of the lunar calendar. The“Chun Kwan Birthday Festival”is however usually celebrated in the early part of the fourth lunar month with traditional Cantonese opera performances.


Transport:

Take bus 44M and alight at Tsing Yi Police Station. Turn into Chung Mei Road and reach the entrance of Sheung Ko Tan Street. After walking along the steps (beside Lutheran Village's name plaque) to Fung Shue Wo Road, you will see the Chun Kwan Temple (next to Tsing Yi Rural Committee).

Tsing Tak Tong Tat-more Temple

Address:Lot 434, No. 18 , Tsing Yi Lutheran Village

Information:

The temple worships Tat-more whose native home was in ancient India. He was one of the ten disciples of Buddha. After Tat-more death, his worshippers honoured with the title Tat-more the Master. In the 1950’s when Tsing Yi Island had not yet been developed, some of his worshippers on the Island, who were migrants from Hai Feng and Lu Feng, built the Temple. Worshippers visit the Temple each year on Tat-more’s birthday (22nd of July of the lunar calendar).

Transport:

It is situated at Lot 434, No. 18, Lutheran Village, Tsing Yi. Take bus 44M and alight at Tsing Yi Police Station. Turn into Chung Mei Road and reach the entrance of Sheung Ko Tan Street, then you will see the name plaque of Lutheran Village. Enter the village and walk for about 2 minutes and you will see the Temple.
