Sandwich showdown
There are few meals that are as classically simple as the sandwich.
The versatile, go-anywhere lunch item is a staple in many people's diets. It's an easy fall-back lunch since there seems to be a sandwich shop on every corner.
They all may seem to sell the same goods, but any sandwich connoisseur knows the distinct difference between Subway and Potbelly's.
What is your favorite sandwich shop?
Why, yes, I'd like fries with that
Would you like fries with that?
At some restaurants, a "no" to that question would be criminal.
So tell us, what restaurants serve fries you can't resist?
Hamburger help here
How's this for a bit of Wisconsin pride: The hamburger as we know it today was quite possibly* invented in the wonderful state of Wisconsin. Seymour, Wis. to be exact.
It was there that 15-year-old Charlie Nagreen decided to flatten the meatballs he was hawking at the 1885 Outagamie County Fair and slap them between two pieces of bread to make the meal easy to carry around.
After coining the term "hamburger," he became known as "Hamburger Charlie" and continued to market the meal well into his 80s.
The town of Seymour certainly hasn't forgotten Hamburger Charlie's contribution to society. It's there you can find the Hamburger Hall of Fame and celebrate Burger Fest each August. The Seymour Police Department even has this little page dedicated to the hamburger.
But enough about Seymour. You can get some excellent burgers here in Milwaukee, too. Where's your favorite burger place? Comment below and share.
*Um, yeah, so there are a few other U.S. cities that claim to have invented the hamburger, but we all know they're just trying to steal Wisconsin's thunder.
It's doughnut weather... now where can I get a good one?
Now that winter is officially on its way you can pretty much spend the next five months hiding under bulky sweaters and jackets, right?
Not that we condone cancelling your gym membership and spending the winter on the couch, but let's face it, this time of year is forgiving if you decide to ease up on the diet and allow some indulgences.
Doughnuts are considered the ultimate fat kid's food. Chock full of fat, calories, sugar and heart attacks... but oh so delicious. There's powdered, jelly-filled, frosted with sprinkles and of course the glazed Krispie Kreme variety. Who can resist them, staring at you from the middle of the conference table at a company meeting?
But not all doughnuts are created equal. There's no use indulging if the pastry's just not that great.
Where, oh where, can you get a good doughnut around here? Comment and share your thoughts below. Then grab a cup of coffee for dipping and don't worry about the extra calories until April.
Your pizza picks

Whether it's good for dine-in, carryout or both, comment and let us know your favorite place to get your Chinese fix and what makes it so good.
Which Friday fish fry fits your fancy?
There's certainly no shortage of fish to fry on a Friday night in the Badger State. Everywhere from churches to breweries to Japanese restaurants seem to have a special place in their schedule of events and on their menus for the Friday night fish fry.
The sheer number of fish fries can be overwhelming, but every born-and-bred Wisconsonite seems to have his or her favorite.
Whether it's because of the atmosphere, the cole slaw, that friendly server or simply the fish, where is your favorite fish fry in town? Leave a comment and tell us why you like your favorite joint.
