Raikkonen begins maiden Ferrari test

Kimi Raikkonen made his Ferrari debut on Tuesday morning, as the Italian team resumed testing at the Vallelunga circuit near Rome.

The 27 year-old Finn took to the damp track in Ferrari’s 2006 car, the F248, for the start of the three-day session, while team mate Felipe Massa continued work with the new F2007. It is the first time Raikkonen has driven a Formula One car in anger since his final race for McLaren last October.

Ferrari had originally planned to test closer to home at Mugello, but forecasts of poor weather prompted a late switch to Vallelunga.
