Tony won the race with 203.984 miles.
Apparently the course was
very hilly
( contrary to what he was advised by the RD)
It would have been just about impossible for anyone to
run the 250 miles and get the prizemoney.

 For details of the race
 please check out Dans Blog
for a great account of the race.

I agree with everything he says and can add more!

I was told it was an almost flat course 10 feet total climb!
I could have run another road 48 in Monoco this weekend.

ALSO This is Scott Jurek's account of the race
http://www.scottjurek.com/blog/
.... Prize  money was refused!!!
As I did not run the ' required mininum '250 miles!!
This requirement was never mentioned to me prior to to race.

None of the runners I met were aware of this minimum distance requirement for prizes in the 48 hour race!
The irony of it all is that it is so clear for the 24 hour runners...
Why I ask was it not transparent for us in the 48 hour race...??

My attempts to find out have been ignored!!

Yiannis Kouros - The greatest ultra runner of all time
would have had problems running that unrealistic distance
on that course!

Well done to all the runners who ran  their best on this very hilly race.
On average there was about 5-6 minutes of pure climbing on each lap.

Many thanks to my wonderful crew:
Shelly,Celia,Tom for his wisdom,Chris and daughter.
