Voting for the uefa.com users' Team of the Year 2008 will begin on Monday. The poll, now in its eighth edition, gives you the chance to select a team of players who have made their mark in European football over the past 12 months.

Nominees
The 60 nominees will be announced on Monday and voting continues until 12 January 2009. The final team of eleven players and a coach will be revealed seven days later. The short list was compiled by uefa.com staff writers on the basis of their daily coverage of football throughout Europe. The players were selected on the strength of their performances for club and country in 2008. Over 15 million votes have been cast in the previous Team of the Year polls. Among the stars in last year's selection were Iker Casillas, John Terry, Cristiano Ronaldo and Steven Gerrard. Click above to watch.
