She is the daughter of Captain Sir John Helias Finnie McEwen, 1st Bt. and Brigid Mary Lindley.1 She married Major Sir Frederick Fermor-Hesketh, 2nd Baron Hesketh, son of Sir Thomas Fermor-Hesketh, 1st Baron Hesketh and Florence Louise Breckinridge, on 22 November 1949.1
     As a result of her marriage, Christian Mary McEwen was styled as Baroness Hesketh on 22 November 1949. From 22 November 1949, her married name became Fermor-Hesketh. She held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Northamptonshire.2 She held the office of High Sheriff of Northamptonshire in 1981.2 She graduated from Leicester University, Leicester, Leicestershire, England, in 1982 with a Honorary Doctor of Law (LL.D.).2 She was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1984.2 She lived in 2003 at Pomfret Lodge, Towcester, Northamptonshire, England.2

     Major Sir Frederick Fermor-Hesketh, 2nd Baron Hesketh was born on 8 April 1916.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Fermor-Hesketh, 1st Baron Hesketh and Florence Louise Breckinridge.1 He married Christian Mary McEwen, daughter of Captain Sir John Helias Finnie McEwen, 1st Bt. and Brigid Mary Lindley, on 22 November 1949.2 He died on 10 June 1955 at age 39.2
