$5 Cover Update/Behind the Scenes #3

November 24th, 2008

$5 Cover - Amy LaVere

Picture 1 of 5

Amy LaVere.

If you were in Memphis during the Indie Memphis Film Festival, perhaps you may have heard that the $5 Cover trailer had leaked. Lucky viewers were treated with a not-so secret screening of the $5 Cover trailer.

One local Memphian has said, “After seeing the trailer, I never have been so proud of my city! I got to check out Snowglobe!”

Many people shared the same enthusiasm to the upcoming series. Currently, the trailer is not on the internet but I am hoping fairly soon that it will be. Otherwise, while working on $5 Cover, here is a story I like to share:

One of the many hardships of filming was scheduling the cast, crew and extras. First Assistant Director, Morgan Jon Fox, and Second Assistant Director, Eileen Townsend, worked around the clock figuring out everybody’s schedules. They were even working at Huey’s when some of the crew went out to eat! One day, a small problem occurred when many extras left the set for various reasons which complicated filming. Still dedicated, Morgan and Eileen instructed every crew member to make many calls to friends in hopes of completing filming that day. Successfully, we gathered the needed extras within a few hours and headed to our next location to set up filming the last scenes of the day.

Another running gag was filming Clare Grant and Muck Sticky for a this particular scene. It was one of the first scenes to be shot but after the first take, it was put off for a week and again the next time. Mainly, it either kept raining or time ran out. This scene ended up being the last one we shot on our last day. I like to celebrate that scene to be very appropriate to be the last scene we shot.

Anyway, I will be back next week to post more Behind the Scenes stories and photos for your entertainment.

I saw a preview of the trailer recently. Well, a rough cut. I seriously do not know when they will put it up on the site. But, since it has been surfacing, I am predicting that it will be very, very soon and I will let you know as soon as it is up!

More production stills and stories soon!

$5 Cover - BTS #2

September 6th, 2008

Hey again,

Thank you, thank you for friending us over on Facebook and Myspace. If you haven’t already, please click on over to our “Friend Us” link to your left and click away!

In keeping you guys in the loop, I will be posting regular stories (spoiler free) from set with some production stills.

Muck Sticky’s first performance of the series was one of the very first scenes we shot. Craig, from the beginning, wanted everything to be authentic as possible so when you see the episode, the fans are very much real life fans of Muck Sticky. They were incredible (and a lot!). Craig directed the audience only once and because of the fans wanting to see Muck perform, the crowd was real, their cheering, applauds, etc. I definitely think you will enjoy this wide array of collaboration and even get the realness of the series. And it’s not just Muck Sticky that there is an authentic crowd by the way. There’s more.

And later in the series, we might even have some surprise cameos from very familiar faces. Who? I’m not telling. Yet. So keep checking back.
