Jennifer Connelly dropped vegan diet during pregnancy
"I'd been vegan for many years, and then all of a sudden, when I was pregnant with Kai, I wanted a turkey burger. That was the end of my being vegan."
Actually Jennifer, that was the end of you being a vegetarian. Right? When you start eating meat again, you're no longer a vegetarian. I think that's how it works.
But hey, I'm certainly no pusher of soy burgers -- in fact, I'm a pretty unapologetic omnivore -- but I know a cop-out when I hear one. Is there really a need to justify eating meat by making it part of a broader life change: like a pregnancy or near-death experience?
Sorry PETA, but no matter how many 'meat is murder' advertisements you put out, it's not going to change a significant number of diets. If you want to go omnivorous, yet you still want to keep your eco-footprint in check there are some low-carbon options out there.
