Cubs land Gathright; Pie's future with team in doubt
The Cubs just signed a guy so fast he’s already run past Felix Pie on the outfield depth chart and looks like he’s about to run Pie right out of the organization. What’s certain: Joey Gathright is a left-handed hitter with more experience, at least as much defensive versatility and better base-running ability and instincts than Pie.

Hawks recall Wisniewski
The Blackhawks recalled defenseman James Wisniewski today from the Rockford IceHogs, where he was conditioning while on injured reserve. Wisniewski, 24, scored four points, including his first career hat trick in a 7-2 win over the Wolves on Saturday.

Rose learning to adjust as defenses focus on rookie
Derrick Rose's lane to the basket is looking more and more like a Chicago expressway during rush hour as teams try to move big bodies in the rookie point guard's way.
